Who has published with CWP?

Here are a few of our more recent self-published authors. In each case the author has produced between 150 and 1000 copies for their own distribution at seminars, fetes, family, club or business! Curriculum Wide Publications has many books published in the education sector, however we also have expanded our range to include autobiographies, club histories, photo feature books, the arts, investment and a whole range of other diverse areas!

Recollections of an Impatient Surgeon (2005) 136 pages
AUTHOR: Dr Alasdair Mackellar

Book - Recollections of an Impatient Surgeon An autobiography by Dr Alasdair Mackellar, Paediatric Surgeon at Princess Margaret Hospital from 1960 to 1986. This book describes the author’s family background, his childhood and education. He describes the problems he encountered during his years of medical practice, with details of some of the patients whom he treated. He also reveals how he combined a busy medical practice with a happy and successful marriage which produced five children and thirteen grandchildren.

A Walk In Amanda’s Garden (2005) 20 pages

A full colour booklet of ‘Amanda’s Garden’.
The garden is open to the public for one week each October. Now every year, thousands of people enjoy a walk in Amanda’s Garden. All proceeds from the garden fete, which is supported by donations from nurseries, artists and crafts people and staffed by many enthusiastic volunteers, are used by the Amanda Young Foundation. The little Red Book is intended to be an aid for staff in the PMH Emergency Department both nursing and medical. It is an attempt to provide conformity in drug doses within the department.

And who else has published with CWP?

Gavan Forster, B Comm (hons), MA (Econs), Dip Educ is currently state director and formerly national director of economics at the Master Builders Association. He has 20 years as an advisor to industry and government on economic matters and is a media commentator on economic affairs. He has written numerous articles mainly in the area of current Australian economic policy and has been an external examiner for over 10 years. He is the co-author of Economics: Australian Business Perspectives now in its third edition and Managing People: Workplace Practice

Rod Monger, B Econs, Dip Educ, Grad Dip Business Administration lectures in business and management at West Coast TAFE in Western Australia. He has worked extensively in the area of flexible delivery methods and competency based training and has over 26 years experience in economics education at secondary, TAFE and university level. He is co-author of Economics: Australian Business Perspectives and has authored and edited several videos and workbooks in the area of economics and management education.

Julie Short BA (Acc), ASA, MICM, IP has worked for debt collection and insolvency practitioners and in the Official Receiver’s Office. She has been president and treasurer of the South Australian Division of the Australian Institute of Credit management and is presently its executive officer. In 1998 she became a part-time lecturer in credit management subjects for TAFE. She is co-author of the text The Control and Management of Credit: Principle and Practices

Rod Jones, M Ed, Grad Dip Ed, B Bus, Dip Comp Studies, has worked as a management lecturer in both TAFE and University sectors over a period of 18 years in QLD, NSW, and WA and as a trainer in both public and private enterprise. For a period of 7 years he was a human resource specialist with government agencies in WA. He is currently head of department, Business and Management and West Coast TAFE. He is the Author of Managing People-Recruitment, Selection and Induction and Managing People Performance and Innovation and Change.

Dr Ross James is a senior research fellow in the school of Public Health, Curtin University of Technology, Western Australia and Program Training Consultant for FEBC Radio international. He has written the text The Transitional Learning Model: A Handbook for Training Design.

The late Chris Keane, B Econ, Dip Educ, CPA worked for 20 years in manufacturing industry as an accountant and manager. He joined TAFE in 1992 as a lecturer in Accounting in South Australia. He is the author of Business Planning and Control and co-author of The Control and Management of Credit as well as other texts in the accounting and finance area.

Kelvin Crombie lived in Israel for 15 years, partly as a guide, researcher and writer and has written the book Anzacs Empires and Israel’s Restoration using archival material including cabinet minutes as well as other original sources, diaries, interview and numerous secondary works. He has endeavoured to bring together these varied aspects of that fascinating period between 1798 and 1948, a period which significantly altered the destinies of Israel, New Zealand, Australia and Britain.

Frank Watkins holds the position of CEO of Pro Trader Pty Ltd, a company that specialises in software development, private retail client broking services and education. His primary role is in education for those wishing to become better traders. He is a regular speaker at the Traders Expos, the Australian Stock Exchange lunchtime lectures in each state, ATAA meetings throughout Australia and STANZ in New Zealand as well as speaker at private investment clubs. He is the author of Exploding the Myths: What your broker doesn’t know or won’t tell you!
